I’m concerned about the future of travel to Cuba. The U.S. government is talking about restricting (further) the travel of U.S. citizens to Cuba. No details have come out since last Wednesday’s statements on the subject; at that time the indication was that travel would basically be limited to people who have family members living on the island.
Please pray that God continues to allow U.S. churches to support the Cuban churches as they take advantage of the doors of opportunity that God has opened there.
1 Timothy 2 teaches that we should pray for government officials so that we may have peace and the gospel may be spread. This is a good time to pray with that aim in mind.
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1–4)
This is not good news. It had seemed for the past few years that relations were headed in a positive direction with Cuba relative to missions, business, and baseball. No, not good at all.
