I’ve been posting links to some of the video testimonials that Herald of Truth has produced. These are powerful stories of God at work. Today I want to link to Karen Presley’s story of how she overcame a difficult past with the help of God and a loving church family.
Again, let me ask that you view the video, then rate it and/or comment on it. Help others find this video. Feel free to share the link with friends.
That is an amazing video and thanks for sharing it. As I watched it, I though that here is a woman who was searching for God’s kingdom reign in her life…from the wanting to be loved to her wanting to be a good wife and mother. She wanted God’s reign over her life, even if at the time she did not know the “churchy” language I am using. I am glad she found the Lord and that he is reigning over her now.
Grace and peace,
Rex
Thanks Rex. Karen’s story is a great story of the changing power of God’s love, of the importance of the church being FAMILY.

One thing I wish is that in our assemblies there would be more room and tolerance for people, male or female, sharing their stories of how God and his gospel have changed their lives. I do not see how it would violate any biblical command or principle (including the teachings in 1 Cor 14.34-35 & 1 2.11-12 which have been stretched beyond their applied teaching for far too long). We need to hear the stories of God changing our lives…it is what keeps the gospel tradition as the living faith of the church.
Grace and peace,
Rex
Wonderful! Isn’t it often the case that what we are to a watching world is much more important than what we say we are? It was in this lady’s case. The way we believers love each other points observers to Christ. Love rules! Love for spouses, children, brothers and sisters in Christ and for those who are so in need of that agape.
BTW, I agree with Rex. Thankfully, we often have testimonies from our members on Sunday morning. Hardly anything is more powerful than hearing how God’s story changed the life story of someone just like me.
Be nice to everyone, its the loving thing to do.
Thanks Tim for the vid.
Royce
Thank you, Royce.
And I agree, guys, that testimonies have a place in our regular worship. I just wish more churches would practice that.

This is precious, Tim. Thanks for sharing. I agree with Rex. We need to get in the habit of sharing our stories with others.
Thanks Paula.
This is a great video. i couldn’t help but notice something amazing though: All she saw was a sign on a road. Wow. It wasn’t a bunch of mega-church bells and whistles. And then, what was it that made such a deep, life-changing impression on her? The way people loved each other. Again, not fancy productions and light shows. Just love. Deep in the pit of my gut i think our ecclesiology should be founded on simplicity and not on marketing, and i think this woman could teach us a lesson. But i don’t mean to distract from the topic–she was brought to Christ and that’s what counts most here. Thanks for sharing this video.
