What If Having an Extraordinary Life Isn’t the Point?

Other people—especially those close to us—can become props. “The Poor” can be instruments of our life project. Our big ideas to “change the world” can become ways of actually avoiding the opportunities we have every day, right where God has placed us, to glorify and enjoy Him and to enrich the lives of others.

God does heal a lot of broken marriages

Truth be told, most good marriages I know about had times when they could have fallen apart. One, or both, could have quit. And maybe that is the key for all of us.
Don’t give up. Don’t quit.

Showing Grace in the Era of Cultural Outrage

In a world as devastatingly broken as ours, there are legitimate issues that should cause us, as Christians, to be angry and want to seek change and justice. Even Jesus got angry when He saw people being exploited. But when we don’t reserve our outrage for genuine cases of injustice, violence and victimization, our anger loses its power. If our voice of outrage is just as loud when a pastor makes a moral mistake, a CEO makes a dumb joke or a leader salutes with a latte in his hand as it is in the face of the systematic oppression of a minority community or the persecution of people by radical militants, something is wrong.

Consumer Reports test results find iPhone 6 and 6 Plus not as bendy as believed

Impressively, despite some serious damage from our Instron machine, some of the phones continued to work. Several of the screens illuminated and were functional to the touch; we even completed a call from one phone to another.
Below you can see the pictures of the smart phone carnage, but bear in mind that it took significant force to do this kind of damage to all these phones. While nothing is (evidently) indestructible, we expect that any of these phones should stand up to typical use.

Hiker Discovers an Abandoned Town Inside Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Sometimes it’s easy to take for granted how much land there is in America. Sure, it’s harder and harder to find places that haven’t been explored, but it’s also become easier to forget places that we’ve already been. Kind of like the entire friggin’ town in the middle of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
