Back in 2008, Jay Guin posted some links to some audio by Ray Vander Laan. To be honest, I rarely find the time to watch videos or listen to audio on the Internet, so I didn’t pay much attention to them. Then a friend gave me some CDs with these lessons recorded on them. Wow! Great stuff.
So here are the links to twelve lessons by Ray Vander Laan. These are some talks that he gave at the Focus on the Family Institute.

RVL provides incredible insights into Middle Eastern culture and Jewish practices. Chances are you’ll find something that makes you say, “Oh, yeah… I’d never thought of that.” I’ve already shared lots of this information with other people, and they’ve all found it to be helpful. Maybe you will too.
TIM, i A ENJOING SO MUCH THE INFORMATIOON FROM rAY vANDER lAAR. DON’T TAKE HIM OFF FOR A WHILE AS i AM TRYING TO ABSORB AS MUCY AS i CAN FROM HOM.

Aunt Lois
Lois,
I’m glad you’re enjoying RVL’s stuff. I find myself referencing it again and again. I want to convince our church to order his DVDs.
Hope you’re well.
Grace and peace,
Tim

Hi Tim,
I can’t seem to download the Ray Vander laan clips. The other day I was able to download them onto Itunes but now Itunes will not let me play them. Could you offer any suggestions or others ways to how I may listen to them. I have listened to his tapes many times but have lost the cds from this very speaking engagement that he did.
Thank you and blessings, Tiffany
Tiffany,
I’m not sure why you’re having trouble. They seem to work for me. What kind of computer are you using?

Tim – I’m a lay adult Sunday school teacher and my wife teaches children. I am current leading a class on from Vamder Lann’s “That the World May Know” series. I would love to get this audio series from this website on CD. How do I get that done?

Al,
Best I know to do is right click the links and download the files, then burn them to a CD.

Hey, Tim. So glad to see you have posted these. This set of instruction was my first introduction to RVL and this kind of “Hebraic culture-married-to-Text” teaching, and it was love at first sight. I was blessed to travel with RVL a year ago Sept. to Israel and into Turkey. WOW. I’ll never be the same. God is using him in great ways to expand our Greek-influenced minds!
So, here is my question: Do you know which lesson (#1-12) includes the one where God cuts the covenant with Abram while Abram is in a deep sleep, and God walks through twice–once as fire and once as smoke? I want to send this particular audio lesson to a group of ladies in Bible class, and cannot remember which one is is on.
Once again, thanks for making these available online. The more who are exposed to this kind of teaching, the more are blessed.

Gaynor
Gaynor,
I can’t remember. I’m fairly certain it’s in the second half of the presentation, if that helps. Seems like it also bleeds across two files, so you should be able to listen to the first few seconds of each and find the part you want.
Grace and peace,
Tim
Hey, Tim! Thanks. That particular lesson is about mid way through Lesson 4 and at the very beginning of Lesson 5…in case someone else wants to know!
Blessings,
Gaynor
