A Prayer for Friday (July 31, 2020)

Father,

Teach me to seek to be right with You rather than right in the eyes of others. Teach me to seek to bring glory to You rather than glory to myself. Teach me to persuade others to seek You rather than persuade them to my point of view.

Increase my faith. Increase my faithfulness.

May I be Yours forever.

Through Christ,
Amen

A prayer for Friday (July 24, 2020)

Lord, teach me Your ways. May I be slow to anger, yet quick to forgive. May I seek justice through service and sacrifice. May I empty myself of ambition, putting others needs ahead of my own.

Father, I feel that I am so far from who I need to be. Help me to say no to myself and yes to the leading of Your Spirit.

Forgive me of my sin. Teach me Your ways.

Amen.

A prayer for Friday (July 17, 2020)

Father of mercies,

We long for You today. Let us come into Your presence. Cleanse us from sin. Purify us again. Let us approach Your throne.

We come not to ask, but to be with You.

Through Christ,
Amen

A prayer for Friday (July 10, 2020)

May we come out from among them, o Lord. Help us to come out from among them.

May we no longer be defined by our political ideologies. Help us to come out from among them.

May we no longer be defined by our nationalities. Help us to come out from among them.

May we no longer be defined by our color and ethnicity. Help us to come out from among them.

May we no longer be defined by our status and education. Help us to come out from among them.

May we no longer be defined by our possessions and entitlements. Help us to come out from among them.

May we be Your holy nation, kings and priests, ambassadors of Your Kingdom, a people united by the Spirit, bought by the blood, and defined by faith. May we fully come into You.

Amen.

A Prayer for Friday (July 3, 2020)

Lord,

Teach me to lament. Teach me to weep over my sin, the sins of my fathers, the sins of my fellow man.

Teach me to rejoice. Teach me to rejoice in the right, in the good of Your creation, in the growth of Your Kingdom.

Teach me your ways.

Through Christ,
Amen.
