Father of mercies, God of love, Lord of creation…

Use us for Your glory. May we be instruments of Your righteousness. May the words we speak and the deeds we do bring forth praise for You.

Father of mercies,

May I seek Your Kingdom above all. May I place Your righteousness and justice above my comfort and privilege.

May I serve You today and every day.

Have mercy on me, a sinner.

Lord,

I come as a man of unclean lips living among a people of unclean lips. We have sinned against You, forgotten Your covenant, rejected Your commandments, ignored Your Word. We have taken advantage of the foreigner, the poor, the widow, and the orphan.

We have done evil and called it righteousness. We have prospered at other’s expense. We have made gods for ourselves and worshipped them. We have sought wealth, comfort, power, and pleasure, rather than seeking Your Kingdom.

For these sins and others, we ask Your forgiveness, Lord. Have mercy on us, mere sinners.

We seek Your peace.

We seek to be Your peacemakers.

We seek You.

Grant us peace, o holy Father.

Lord,

We wait.

We wait for You.

We hope in You.

While we wait, we will serve. We will work. We will pray.
