A Prayer For Friday (July 19, 2019)

Lord of the nations,

May we today seek to serve and not to be served. May we be willing to surrender our rights and freedoms for the good of your Kingdom. May we always remember that the Lion of Judah turned out to be the Lamb that was slain.

May we seek goodness and truth, rather than power. May we respond to evil with good, to violence with love, to reproach with blessing.

Free us from the need to win, seeking only the victory that was won at Calvary.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

A Prayer For Friday (June 7, 2019)

Father of compassion and God of all comfort,

Help me Lord, to show to others the mercy I’ve received from you. Help me to console as I have been consoled, to comfort as I have been comforted.

Let me not shy away from suffering, Lord, but use it to learn to better serve others in the midst of their suffering.

Grant me more compassion for others, Father.

In the name of He who suffered for me,

Amen

A Prayer For Friday (May 31, 2019)

Lord Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,

You remember, O Lord, that we are dust; help me to do the same. You know, O Lord, that we were made little lower than the angels; help me to understand that. You see, O Lord, in every human the reflection of Your image; open my eyes to that truth.

Help me to love my enemies. Give me a heart for the hurting and the powerless. Help me to see the plight of the poor, the orphaned, the widowed, and the immigrant.

Remake me in the image of Your Son.

Amen.

A Prayer For Friday (May 24, 2019)

O God of Abraham,

May Your people be my people. May Your city be my homeland. May Your glory be the goal of my existence.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

A Prayer for Friday (May 17, 2019)

Father God,

Great are You, o Lord, and worthy of praise. May You alone sit enthroned in my heart.

Help me to let go of the idols I hold dear. May Your Spirit lead me in Your ways. Help me to put off the ways of the flesh and put on Your Son.

I pledge allegiance to You, God, and to You alone. May You alone sit enthroned in my heart. Reign there alone.

You are my King. You are my Lord. You are my God.

Amen.
