Good without God?

From billboards to books, columns to community projects, atheists and other non-believers have campaigned that morality can be separated from religion. Unfortunately for them, many around the world see a belief in God as a prerequisite for being moral.
A majority of people in 24 of 40 nations surveyed by Pew said it’s necessary for a person to believe in God to be moral. In the U.S., a slim majority (53 percent) said the same.

Man lost at sea while performing California beach baptism

U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Adam Stanton said three men were initially washed away by the surf while performing the religious ceremony, held on the shore of the Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve in the small Santa Barbara County city of Guadalupe.
Two of the men were able swim back to shore without injuries, but the third man, whom authorities have not named, was still lost on Monday afternoon, according to a statement by the Santa Barbara Fire Department.


Daylight saving time mistake may have caused Dublin car bomber to blow himself up

“It would appear that the bomber got his timings wrong. It could be a case where he didn’t put his watch forward on Sunday [at 1am] and the timer went off too soon,” the Daily Mirror reported.
