Gender and the Trinity: An Interview with Psychologist Larry Crabb

If we don’t understand a man’s call to relate in a particular way and a woman’s call to relate in a particular way, then we’re not going to be revealing the character of God in the way we relate. God’s not going to get the glory. And it’s rather central in Scripture that the whole point of all that God is doing is for his own glory.

Thought Question: Is the Church Dying in America?

In short, I see the institutional church as continuing to be the core of American Christianity, at least here in the South. I don’t see house churches, coffee shop churches, or the like as having a measurable impact on the growth of Christianity. (That could change, but at this point, those are the results as I see them.)
On the other hand, I see a reshuffling of the deck, as Christians are much less loyal to their denominational ties and so select churches for reasons largely unconnected to denominational distinctives.

Why Is It So Critical That We Sing Together?

And music does this in a way that preaching can’t. In songs phrases are repeated and tied to music. This makes them more memorable. Singing is a way of meditating on God’s word. It’s mulling it over. It’s chewing on it, rolling it over, chewing some more. The word of Christ dwelling richly. Music is powerful in this way.

Good Samaritans meet homeless Czech man in New York, buy him a ticket home

“When we ran into Jaroslav, we were just won over by his composure and the fact that he didn’t ask for anything,” Levithan told Yahoo News. “He was just stuck all alone. … As the day went on and we bonded with him we just decided that we needed to get him home. So we looked into flights, and they were expensive, but we just decided that it was the right thing to do and we sent him home.”

AK-47s, Accordions And Angels Of Death: Narcocorridos Hit The Big Screen

Narcocorridos are popular on both sides of the border, with popular music videos, sold-out concerts and CDs sold at Wal-Mart. The documentary shows teens in school uniforms saying that being a narco’s girlfriend would be cool. And the filmmakers interviewed people like Oscar Lopez, who produces action films about drug traffickers.
“Narco culture has grown so much,” Lopez says, “because these guys see narcos as modern-day Robin Hoods.”

Welsh bar’s ‘divorce’ sign now says ‘keeping the dog’

Noah’s Yard in Uplands, which has a history of changing its sign to give special messages, put up the words “Paul… I am divorcing you” on the exterior of the building during the weekend and the sign was changed Tuesday to read “BTW I am keeping the dog,” using the “BTW” text-speak for “by the way,” the South Wales Evening Post reported Tuesday.
